There might be a Black Panther costume on the way, similar to the Captain America character, in Fortnite soon that will let players dress as Boseman’s character from the MCU. There was a character dressed as Captain America, Black Panther's fellow Avenger. A Redittor quickly posted an image of the two players declining to fight in front of the statue to show respect. 'As with the rest of the world, we were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of actor Chadwick Boseman,' an Epic Games spokesperson told Kotaku. However, the statue appeared days after Boseman’s death on August 28th. The statue was not really planned as a direct response to the news about Boseman and was already planned as a Marvel-themed narrative for Fortnite. The statue is a snarling, pacing and muscular version of a black panther that signifies Boseman’s strength during his cancer battle. The statue doesn’t bear direct resemblance with the actor, but the superhero he portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The stature can be found near the Misty Meadows area in the game and was added as a part of the season 4 update last week. Players have started to share images of the statue which is commonly known as Panther’s Prowl. If you play Fortnite on PC, consoles or smartphones, you can now visit a location on the map that has a Black Panther statue to remember the late Chadwick Boseman.
